Are you in a winter weather funk? So are we. That’s why this week we chose to compile a list of the top 10 US travel destinations, with the help from an article by LonelyPlanet.com. Whether you actually are a fan of the cold or would categorize yourself as a beach bum, this list should satisfy your every vacation wish. So, let’s get started, shall we?

To start off, we’re taking you up north to Grand Rapids and Lake Michigan’s Gold Coast. Grand Rapids, Michigan was voted best beer city in the US by the national Beer Examiner blog in 2012 and 2013, but if beer is not your thing there are plenty of other activities to take part in. These activities include touring the art scene at Frederik Meijer Gardens and the Grand Rapids Art Museum or heading to the 30-mile stretch of beautiful beaches.

Enjoy hiking and taking in Mother Nature’s beautiful creations? Yosemite National Park, CA might be your destination of choice. Throughout Yosemite adventure-seeking travelers will find peaks, waterfalls, meadows, and breathtaking scenery.

Next, let’s head east to Boston, MA. Baseball fans will enjoy the busy city thanks to the 2013 Red Sox World Series win. In the spring, all eyes will be on the Boston Marathon, with more than 36,000 runners expected to run the course. Aside from the athletic attractions, Boston also is home to many festivals, restaurants, historic hotels, and museums.

Central Coast, CA makes number four on LonelyPlanet’s list of top US travel destinations for 2014. This is considered the stretch between San Francisco and Los Angeles, with laid-back beach towns, hidden coves, sea lion colonies, the Hearst Castle, pleasant weather, and the list goes on.

Rounding out the top 5 is the Jersey Shore. Let’s try and not picture the horrible MTV show when we think of the Jersey Shore. Instead, let’s focus on the boardwalks. Seaside Heights and Atlantic City offer shopping galleries, beaches, amusement rides, and fun activities for the whole family.

Here at Lamcraft we are proud to introduce #6: our very own Kansas City, MO! We are known as the city of fountains, with more than 200 around the city. KC is also famous for its barbeque joints, the Country Club Plaza, art districts, and more. Definitely worth a visit, if we do say so ourselves.

Cumberland Island, GA comes in at #7. Described as “magical” and an “unspoiled paradise” this location consists of many forms of wildlife, large mossy old oaks, and breathtaking scenery. Hiking and backcountry camping opportunities attract visitors from all over.

Casinos, bright lights, and gambling for days? Where would this be other than Vegas, baby?! Aside from the well-known hotels and casinos, there are also tourist hot-spots off the strip such as Fremont East, the Arts District, cafes, galleries, and more. For the thrill seekers, Las Vegas offers indoor skydiving, go-karting, and ziplining.

Craving some Colorado mountains, but don’t want all the hustle and bustle of the densely populated cities? Sun Valley, ID is the perfect alternative to the Rocky Mountain state. Sun Valley is located in a stunning location with camping, hiking, skiing, and mountain biking (all without the crowds). According to LonelyPlanet.com, a nearby town named Stanley “might be the most scenic town in the US.”

Topping off the list is Lana’i, HI. Hawaii is a great travel destination for many reasons, but Lana’i specifically offers a “sense of isolation” and “small-island charm” that makes the trip worthwhile.
